What were the qualities of the best bed you have ever owned?

The most important quality is the company I share it with.

It was six feet wide and seven feet long, and it had 280 gallons of water in it. I paid $159 for the entire setup and it lasted eight years. Then it sprang a leak. I did not get another because I was about to move out.

It's huge ....Eight feet wide and a real nightmare to change the fitted sheets.....it's a ful workout for me just walking around it ....
We have a Eder Down filled duvet that's pure bliss when it's chilly out....it's as light as a feather as well....:)  

I've never liked the ten minutes or so that it takes to warm up a cold bed,
so my favorite bed was probably my waterbed. Once you get the temperature right,
          the bed is always comfortable ... temperature-wise.

That would be the bed I am currently sleeping on.  It is very comfortable and firm.
