Do High POVERTY Rates And Democratic Administrations (Local and State) Go Hand in Hand?

If the assumptions in the cited article are true, then why would the poorest of the urban poor EVER vote democratic?

Same as with crime it makes sense for the poor and the criminals to live in densely populated areas and those areas like to vote democrat.  My family is immigrants and I know many other immigrants and because of exchange rates they do not come to the country with much money and and that means life in the city is needed where there is buses and rental apartments until they can buy a car and house.

  • Jakob you can love to hear yourself talk all you want to but it doesn't make you right and what fault in your mind am I blaming the unions for in my two sentence response? Do tell. It is a fact that most union leaders had ties to the mafia and when their caught their brothers/family take over.

Unions are very corrupt and always will be... try being a regular non union worker in a union led business and you will see very quickly you have no rights.

In certain situations, yes. As a constant, I don't think dems can claim sole credit for that one. Beyond that, it's the policies, not the pols per se and given how closely repub and dems pols align on those policies, this would be a broad brush.

You're probably right.  My solution is for government to get/stay the hell out of the way and cease social engineering.

ASSUMING your assessment is accurate, Kansas proves that trickle-down doesn't work in Kansas.  That would make sense, too, inasmuch as Kansas' economy is still largely agrarian and trickle-down, when it works, works best in heavily industrialized states.

No. Yeah we really do.  You just don't realize it yet.

And thank you, too!  It's nice to see civility from you.

I agree, that's pretty much what he's saying. I think Nimitz has a "writing comprehension" problem, since he seems to complain that a lot of reasonably intelligent people fail to understand him.

Sounds nice, but how do you actually implement your "solution"?

    @JakobA

    1) You're entitled to read (into) it whatever you wish.  At least you have the wherewithal to respond rationally.  That being the case you will understand my confusion. What I wrote was:

"....those who are dependent on the democratic welfare-drug pushing machine cannot escape the addiction because they lack the academic and vocational resources to do so--again by the nearly exclusive design of democrats."

Do you see the difference now with the added emphasis?

    2) a) I view the words 'Democrat,' 'socialist,' 'Marxist' and 'slaver' as fungible. b) I am not a republican, so that might explain the difference here, and c), democracy is two cannibals and one missionary voting on what's for dinner.  What do you think about 'democracy'?  (In actuality I'm an anarcho-libertarian.)

Stereotype much?  I am not a goose-stepping 'conservative' and I do not usually tote a bible. :-)

It did, but you're still comparing city apples to state oranges.

Right now I'm leaning heavily toward a natural solution: an asteroid about the size of a boxcar to go bolide over the Nexus of Evil (Washington, DC) during a joint session of congress.

And you still argue like a girl.

Doesn't change anything. Again, this is a writing comprehension problem on your part. You apparently don't understand what you actually wrote.

I don't know what that's supposed to mean, "argue like a girl". Please elaborate.

    "Doesn't change anything."

There was nothing to change. Despite all your tag teaming the meaning was still crystal clear.  Only THOSE WHO ARE DEPENDENT ON Democratic welfare dependency schemes LACK THE ACADEMIC AND VOCATIONAL RESOURCES to better their condition.  A government-school educated fourth grader could grok this.
