Discussion»Questions»Sports» If you you were a member of the Clemson national college football champion team, would you have gone to the white house to eat fast food?.
I'd rather eat a tofu burger alone in a snow storm then have lunch with Trump. I got a feeling Trump is going to get caught in another lie - he bragged that he paid for the meal but I bet he didn't. Cheers!
I'm prepared to bet that the QB, WRs and other running backs didn't touch it. That much fat wouldn't worry a center or lineman, but everybody else watches their weight.
I love Clemson and have for many many years. I've spent time up there. I wanted them to come into the SEC rather than Missouri. I love Dabo; he played for The Bear at Bama. He'll be at Bama again. I've been watching college football my whole life. In Alabama. Everyone in the family (almost) went to Auburn. Redneck is a Southern word best used by Southerners. No one else really gets what it means.
That's the first really goofy thing I've ever heard you say.

Dang...I've said much goofier things than that. Really...who but a trump supporter would actually go to the whitehouse to eat fast food...redneck trump supporters. I certainly would have impolitely declined.

There are coaches who would BENCH players for eating that sort of cr@p. The late Joe Paterno is reputed to have sat his star WR on the bench for overindulging in grilled stickies (a PSU specialty) on the eve of a game.
From the tweet I saw -- if it was real -- I found it more insulting that he found it necessary to brag about he, himself, paying for the food. If he were truly doing it out of kindness, why tell the world? I find it rude and rather insulting for him to find it necessary to brag to the whole world about how he paid.
I don't 'buy' his reasoning about the partial government shutdown.
I wouldn't have gone to the dinner no matter what he was serving. Having said that, even if the White House chef was furloughed, there were places from which he could have ordered better foods that would have brought them in trays that could be kept warm.
Nup. Why bother when fast food is available in almost every urban setting? Plus, If I'm an athlete, why would I eat junk food that would only compromise my ability to compete?
First, I'd never receive nor accept an invite from Trump or his minions.
But if I were a Trumpist... well, I'd probably go just to be in on the event - and I'd forgive the food because the public service is being paid - but I still wouldn't eat it. I'd wait to eat healthier food after the event.
Frankly, I believe fast, sugar-added and highly processed foods should be outlawed like cigarettes. Their effect on health is costing people's lives and the public purse far too much.
