I rely on my past experiences which helped build me. I have learned by mistakes I've made along the way, and remember that we are all a work in progress. No one is perfect, and I am not out to impress anyone. I certainly didn't get self-confidence from my parents, and I don't look to other people for that, because that's empty.
Try to remember that life is really a series of repeated situations. If you survived the first rounds ... chances are, you'll do fine the next times. Paying attention and learning from your mistakes ... makes you feel more confident that you can handle things that are thrown at you.
