What are some techniques to calm your nerves when talking to someone famous?

  • Oh, I would probably find that a bit intimidating, dating a publicly recognized person. An upside though, you could probably dig up more info on them than the average person before the meet up. See what level of mess you may be getting into lol. Maybe even find out their net worth, that’s good info :)

Wait, you mean to say you actually researched me before our first face-to-face?  I don't even know who you are any more!

Gee, it's funny you should mention police, I've arranged for them to come and get you.  Take her away, officers, and remember, there's no such thing as handcuffs too tight.

(That's ironic funny, not ha-ha funny.)

So, I shouldn't give them the letter declaring my ardent love for them upon the first encounter?  What if I don't get another chance????!!!!!

Oh please.  I'm too "mature" to be dazzled by other humans.  They are just humans, after all.  I might be nervous if I had to have them over for dinner or something I had to actually DO for them, that is another story.   But just talking?  How can that matter.  (just musing)

I don't believe I've ever met anyone famous, but I would speak to them the same as I'd speak with anyone else.

Remember, they are just normal people who also scratch their arse and pick their nose, and may be doing the holiday camp stint or local music festival, even the Christmas pantomime at the local theatre in 20 years time.

Oh, wait a minute, back it up there, hold the phone Ramon!  What about all the blushing and the stammering and the profuse sweating and the twisting of locks of your hair around your fingers whenever you speak with me?

It's not easy for me to keep track of all of my adoring fans, after all, there are so many of you.

Treat them like anyone else, forget they are famous.  In short treat them like any other Arse who wants something.

There are some who are in their own head, so ignore them.  Their are others who are down to earth enjoy them.  I meet with so many of these types it is old hat for me.  I find out what they want, massage their ego, and help our Sales/Marketing team make the sale or get the endorsement.  If it is a casual run in if they are polite, I am polite.  If they are an Arse, I let them know it.  Actually shocks the hell out of a few.

We actually had a funny one 2 weeks ago.  Doc and I were out to dinner with the Resident Labradors, yes dogs are allowed in Restaurants here.  One of the California Celebs came in, made a stink about the Residents, he was asked to leave with his party. Since I am a regular I did make up the loss to the owner.  Next day the Pr___K saw us and started making a scene - the Police did have some fun explaining he could be arrested.

In Austria celebrity status barely buys you anything except 1st invites to some of the lesser Balls
