Knopf is brilliant. Can't sing, but what he can do with the Schecter means that nobody cares.
"Mark Knopfler has an extraordinary ability to make a Schecter Custom Stratocaster hoot and sing like angels on a Saturday night, exhausted from being good all week and needing a stiff drink." - Douglas Adams, So Long and Thanks For All the Fish
Telegraph Road rises up from Laskey and Detroit Ave. in Toledo, Ohio and races north into the suburbs of Detroit. Of this road, Mark Knopfler wrote the Dire Straits song 'Telegraph Road'. It never got much airplay in the U.S. because it is so long.
When I listened to it, it really didn't sound like the Telegraph road you refer to. Things may have changed since I last drove it up to Monroe. Great song though.

You're right, it DOES!! With all the trouble bands have gotten into for supposedly taking other musicians' music, I'm surprised The Hollies haven't jumped ALL over Oasis for this one. The first 30 seconds is all I needed to hear. :)
I like this Oasis song, too. never heard it until now. I like it partly because ti reminds me of The Hollies - - but Oasis here sounds a bit edgier, using the same music. Yeah, I think it sounds like Long Cool Woman in a Black Dress.
