Why do beer companies try to outdo each in their advertising as far as whose beer is colder?

  When that beer is put into a cooler, an ice chest, a refrigerator, etc., is it colder than any other beer that’s put into those same places?

Not really but it is the KIND  of cold that matters. The molecules vibrate differently. 

Beer cooled in a cooler or fridge is just common cold.

  So two different brands of beer chill just the same way as one another in each type of cooling environment, correct?  If so, the advertising is misleading.

You say it's sort of 'believe it or not' rather than misleading. 

  I agree with your points, none of which address the our-beer-is-colder-than-their-beer perspective. How gullible people must be to fall for that, right. It’s like saying this water is wetter than that water.

  I don't drink beer.  I tasted various brands and types of it when I was in my early twenties and I've never liked it.

No?  Not sure when you were in your early 20s but in the last oh 35 years all kinds of different great beers on the market. A renaissance in U.S. brewing. I drink mostly wine but do sometimes drink beer and always keep some on hand for when one of them is what I want.  Which is maybe usually every few weeks or so. 

  It doesn't matter where I was; I don't like beer, period.  I tried both domestic beers and foreign beers, and I found absolutely nothing positive about the taste.

Good beer is brewed in Australia, Germany and the Czech Republic. Add Ireland if you're including stout.

I have heard that comment expressed on here before and I don't agree with it.  Not that I am any real expert on beer either here or around the world.  But in my own experience and that of people I know who are really into it that is certainly not true.  Though I have tasted beers I like German, Czech, and Irish.  Not Australia though I am sure they must have some good ones. 

Thank you.  Tasting better when cold is one thing, our beer is colder than other beers is another.  If two different brands of beer are the same temperature, how can one be colder than the other?

I have not noticed the colder ads. But I avoid commercials when possible. 
I know one has a temperature sensitive picture to let drinkers know the beer is cold. 
The only  way to be colder/stay colder would to have a different type container that insulated the cold in better. As far as I know they are all in the same basic glass/cans so makes no sense to me.

I don't agree 2cents.  If all you want is a cold drink then taste does not really matter so much.  But the best beers taste better at room temperature.  Because you get more taste and less cold.  Sometimes I chill a beer in summer but most of the times if I have it (cause mostly I drink wine) I do not because I want more taste. 

Certainly are some beers that are inexpensive but when we are basically paying three to five dollars for a bottle or can of 12 or 16 fluid ounces I would not consider that cheap.  

I have never tasted a beer that had a good taste. I have tried many types in my younger years. I am sure I am in the minority as it sells to much for people not to like it. 

But I have heard people say that the first one is hard to get down sometimes. Personally they make feel ill from just the first taste.

Goodness of course then! Why do anything which makes you feel ill?   Many of us don't care for beer because of the bitterness which comes from the hops.  Taste of beer is a blend of the bitterness and fruitiness of the hops and the sweetness and richness of the malted barley.  Wine we generally like more because being made from fruit does not have that bitterness.  For me white wine is for everyday like when I come home from work or after I finish the dinner dishes.  Beer is for when I want to be in a more philosophical mood - like when I am reading on the sofa.  When I want to be more contemplative. 

I do prefer sweet. But no wine either. When I used to drink I would drink whiskey and coke, schnapps or a liquor.

It depends on what tastes your palate prefers. If all you've sampled is American beer, then I agree with you. It's tasteless.
If you like sweet, you won't enjoy beer. Good beer is bitter. Cloudy ales are very malty, so there's a little of the umami in there as well. Lagers are less so, I prefer Pilseners - the floral aroma of Saaz hops is what I find sets them above the others.
