What is the difference between being smart and being wise or good?

Human behavior was the closest topic on the list that I could find.  Please also tell me what you think about the thought lives of the two types, a wise person and a good person.

  • A wise person displays her knowledge through silence. A smart person displays her ignorance through speech.

As my wise dad once said, YOU WOULDN'T UNDERSTAND IF I TOLD YOU.  Meaning, he didn't want to tell me. It was too much work.

Being smart is having enough know-how and sharpness to problem-solve.  Being wise is knowing people.  Being good is helping others rather than oneself.   I wouldn't want to make a guess about anyone's "thought life".  I'm not sure there would be any congruence.

How these qualities were arrived at, and who is doing the judging.
