Think of a musical act that has TWO people in its name, yet they do not use the word "and" in the name. Are there any?

For instance, acts such as Hall and Oats or The White Stripes wouldn't count, because the former includes the word "and", while the latter does not have the people's names as the title of the group.  Bachman-Turner Overdrive might count, if their names are Bachman and Turner (I'm not sure either way).

I’m familiar with the movie by that name, but I didn’t know there’s also a music group too.

Does it have to have only two?

    If not:
    The Jackson Five
The Osmond Brothers ... The Osmond Family

Only two people. Once you venture into three or more, the potential responses become countless.

If I take your question literally ... there are a few groups that do not use the WORD "and" in their name.

    For example: Sam & Dave.
Though it is pronounced "Sam and Dave", they don't use the WORD "and" in their name.

But if you don't allow the & symbol:
The Carpenters.  (Karen & Richard Carpenter)
The Louvin Brothers.  (Ira & Charlie Louvin)
The Everly Brothers.  (Don & Phil Everly)

The three examples at the end of your post fit the criteria asked for in that the name of the acts do not have the word (nor the ampersand symbol).  When you go further into “and” or ampersand, that is not the name of the act, it’s the names of the people in the act.

  • I know there was a band called Bachman-Turner Overdrive, but I know zero about them.

(Check out my reply under Twinkle Dink's comment here -- a GREAT-to-me BTO song I only relatively recently heard.)

  • OMG!  Its a few hours later and I just now read the description under your question.  LOL!  Duh!  You mentioned Bachman-Turner Overdrive and I didn't even know it.  I will say this though, after posting them as my answer I looked them up and sure enough that is the name of key members of the group.  I don't think your question dictates that the act be simply a duo, only that the name be so.  Anyway, blah, blah, blah...I Win.  Say its so or I'll post a twink pic.  LOL!

    :)

I admit I did see Randy D's mention of Bachman Turner Overdrive but then I, too, looked them up for the history of their name, which was what I thought (and you found out, too) - - yeah, their names.

I like that band a lot but only relatively recently "discovered" for myself this song of theirs, which immediately jumped towards the top of my list of songs i really like of theirs - - "Lookin' Out for Number One." to me, it sounds atypical of their usual style. I really like their "usual" style but this song has SUCH a nice GROOVE!!

When I saw this question, my first thought was, "Where's Welby?"
Awesome choice of song from you and BTO.
It's great to see you!  Love, Merlin

I always think of Welby when I come up with these music-related questions. He’s a great inspiration for them, I really love his love of music!

There are a lot of stipulations on this question.
    I thought ABBA.
No cigar because it is a comodity of more than two people.
    Sad face.
I'll keep thinking.  I am sure there must be one and you know.
I thought Victor, Victoria was a great answer and had thought of it also.  It doesn't count because it was a musical and not exclusively a music group?
Man. There are so many rules.
    I'll keep thinking.

I had to come back and edit.  I forgot my period after thinking.  Sorry Randy.  But, I did catch it! :):)  Love ya!

Wait, you missed your period?  *Randy D immediately thinks back to formulate his alibi.

I love your question but my brain is too fried at the moment to think that hard -- as it was at that moment I had first read it many hours ago, also.

    Montgomery Gentry
    Bellamy Brothers
    Righteous Brothers
    Nelson

BTO does not meet your guidelines there are more than two members.

I can't keep the question's requirements clear, ha! I'm in awe of you and others being able to so here!
    :)

The Bellamy Brothers' "Let Your Love Flow" is one of THE most beautiful songs I've ever heard -- only sung by them, though. ANY time I hear them sing it, and I first heard it as a young kid, I feel-oh-so-good listening. This post was edited by WelbyQuentin at July 19, 2019 5:21 AM MDT

Reread the question; I believe Jane S has me on a technicality here. I wrote TWO people in its name, not two people in the group.
