I think Trump is just a slightly unhinged self absorbed mortal rather than a truly evil kind of a Satan figure.

Not everything that happens in this world is God's will.

Because humans have free will not follow  God's will for them and the world.

No one is obstructing election security. Federal gov is not supported to be in charge of elections. Elections are a power of the state gov and should stay that way.  A party that does not want to require proof of citizenship for voter registration or proof of identity to vote cannot claim to be worried about the security of our elections.

Moscow Mitch appears to be favoring Russian interference in the 2020 election by blocking increase of security measures after being warned by Mueller.

No. He is simply not willing put the Fed gov over elections.

Intelligence officals has stated the Russians did not hack voting machine and did not change even one vote during the election. Spending $50,000 on FB is nothing. And the ads wear not designed to change a vote (the had ads for and against both the left and the right) they were disigned to make Amercians fight and loose faith in our system.

Can you show me one ad that would have changed your vote? (If you could...I know you are Canadian) I have asked this numerous times and never received an answer.

Mueller might have in mind other sneaky ways and means that Russians could interfere than Facebook that might be effective without proper safeguards. They do want Trump re-elected.

Your link says what I just said the votes were not tampered with.  And does not answer my question just what ad would have changed the mind of any voter?
I can tell you who likely swung the election Trump's direction.  Jim Comey coming out with his letter to Congress saying the investigation into Hillary was reopened. That hurt her.   Not the emails...People were tired of the emails and knew FBI would never charge her. And of course, Hillary was not a good candidate and had lots of baggage.

Why do you think they want Trump? He has not been easy on them. He has been tougher on Russia than any Pres since Reagan.

Russians may have some ulterior purpose for wanting the Trump man elected. The sanctions make good optics to say they should not want him.

The Russians might have a "diabolical" ulterior purpose. I don't think Russians are know for doing favors for free so it scares me to think about  what their plans might be. Not sure if you heard this but the Inuit of Canada's high artic don't welcome Russians with open arms - they go out on the ice and tap out sarcastic Morse code messages to the luring Russian submarines  below - like hey rooskie does your under water vessel have a Poop deck.  Cheers!

  • Oh baloney.

The federal government is already involved in regulation of elections at every level :

52 USC Ch. 301: FEDERAL ELECTION CAMPAIGNS

    52 USC Ch. 10101.Voting rights

52 USC Ch. 30101 Campaign Finance

There is no valid legal basis for refusing to pass bipartisan reforms like the Secure Elections Act that Republicans would support if their  own leadership let them vote.

So they are stopping yet another Federal overreach.

It is not bipartisan. Only one Rep supports it. This post was edited by my2cents at July 28, 2019 11:40 AM MDT

  • Do you even understand the law - Or do you just sniff around for "context" like you do when you delete member posts you don't agree with?

Its not some kind of overreach to enact legislation that's mandated by the Constitution, defended by the Supreme Court, and supported by a clear majority of ordinary American voters.

And it's also time to pull your head out of the sand about the bipartisan backing for reform :
