I'm a residential grounds keeper and I've noticed a decrees  in bee population over the past 5 years or so. The ones that seen to be decreasing the most are orchard bees. Today I was working around a lot of lavender that was blooming  - there should of been hundreds of bees around  but there weren't that many.  Cheers! • I care.  I just think that bats will take over.

But then the honey will taste a lot different

  • Faaak the honey...now that bees are dying,  we’ll soon have no coffee and almonds...That’s sometimes all I eat drink through the week, besides wine.  I AM GOING TO DIE.

Everybody will care more when the world’s food crops go un-pollinated.

Maybe the pedestrian banter on this little website could find its way to discuss truly substantive concerns ....

  • I find it odd that these important things never get discussed on the news, really. Maybe it’s just too big a problem for people to face.

Or too grim. Maybe people fear controversy, or what they may find out.
Regardless, these subjects need to be faced soberly, and by everyone.

  • In lieu of bees, I offer you "The Bee Girl" from that Blind Melon song, "No Rain".

Not only have I seen a few, I've been stung by one - but I agree there seems to be fewer than there was a decade or so ago.

    actually yes
We had a colony of bees
that made their hive inside of
a tenants wall. The Bee Keeper
came and sucked them all up
in a bee vacuum and transferred them to his Hives.
