There was this attractive young lady that rode my school bus. Her last name was 'Asperger'. But before I tried to make a move on her, I learned that she had a boyfriend who could beat me up. There was also a semi-famous chick who rode my school bus-------- her name is Cyndi Jackson, 'The Living Barbie Doll'. (World record holder for the most cosmetic surgeries)

No, rural Ohio. Her father invented the automatic shut off valve handle thingy on a gasoline/ diesel fuel pump. This resulted in the loss of thousands of 'pump jockey' jobs around the world. Now we have to pump our own fuel.  Anyway, the fuel pump manufacturer he worked for had a clause in his contract that said THEY got the patent rights. He got nothing, they made millions.

I recently came across "absquatulated" for the first time. It took me by surprise.

    absquatulate
    /əbˈskwɒtʃʊleɪt,əbˈskwɒtjʊleɪt/
    verb
    HUMOROUSNORTH AMERICAN
past tense: absquatulated; past participle: absquatulated
    1. leave abruptly.
"some overthrown dictator who had absquatulated to the USA"
from the mid 19th century: a blend (simulating a Latin form) of abscondsquattle ‘squat down’, and perambulate.

    Oooooo
I adore learning words new to me to add to my vocabulary such as absquatulated.
When I hear or see them, I try to embed them to memory by using them as many times as I can for many days, attempting to infuse them into a conversation.
Alas, I cannot think of many times I would be able to utilize absquatulated but damnit, I'm going to give it a whirl! This post was edited by Jon at September 22, 2019 6:40 PM MDT

It was part and parcel of the language of my parents and grandparents, and now I use them, I love them.  I watched Some Mother's Do Ave Em when I was younger, I now watch the re-runs on the channel Yesterday, along with Open All Hours, Porridge, Rising Damp.  How does one walk when mooching? Have you ever given it a go? :)
