Newsweek is full of never Trumpers. They have been floating a resignation theory since at least Jan 2019.

The rise of objectivity at Rupert Murdoch’s redneck roadshow?

Lest we forget, “they don’t work for us anymore.”

The GOP side, the Dem side, AND the truth?

A month ago I would  of said Trump will never resign but now I'm starting to think it might be exactly what happens. This impeachment thing is gaining speed and they are finding new stuff every day plus Trump knows there is lots of other stuff that will probably be uncovered unless he resigns. I bet that if he resigns within 1 week he will get himself  banned from twitter for spreading hate then he will have no public voice and that will hurt him more then having to step down from office. Cheers!

An additional benefit would be Trump’s availability for criminal prosecution.

Well I'm hoping Trump will get tried for treason in a military court  and sentenced to a military prison. Cheers!

Nixon resigned to avoid certain impeachment Nanoose and we know chump isn't brave. He is a coward and he old and he is over the edge. Of course then he become a target for indictment and imprisonment. I dunno Nanoose. What would YOU do? Thank you for your thoughtful reply and Happy Tuesday to thy! :)

Nixon was clever enough to know that his Presidency was doomed, so he fell on his own sword. Trump isn't that smart.
However, given his propensity for rage and bluster, he's quite likely to have an attack of apoplexy during impeachment hearings and die from a massive infarction or stroke. Again, paralleling Harding.
