What was the last moment where it really just hit you that you are old or getting old?

I wore a new pair of shoes today and not a single person has asked me how fast I can run in them.

Well. One can still see the tat on my back. That's all I can say.

I wear velcro shoes all the time. It is getting difficult to reach and trim my toe nails. When I was younger, I could shovel all the snow outta the driveway. Now I have a snow blower. I used to play golf. Now I just watch golfers win millions of dollars. (on TV)  I used to bitch about stuff. Now I call everybody 'sons-a-bitches'.

  • Hey my 4 year old wears velcro too so I wouldn't feel so old about that one.

When I was 28.  I  woke up and realized in 12 short years I would be 40.

  • 28 feels so long ago.  I woke up today and realized in 8 short months I'll be 40.

  • I’d say that is alright. It’s not like you are sweating from the journey to reach that point.

Here's another one. 20 or even 30-year-olds being old enough to be my daughters.

It happens when I realize how old my mother is.  She was only 18 when I was born.

Oh crap!!!!   That just can't be right!

  • Having a sister that is age 50 and parents that have reached their 70’s I found to be quite unsettling.

Every day pretty much -- preferring CDs/albums/DVDs/VHS; I like holding things instead of streaming things -- or something like that

The first time a younger person offered me their seat on a city transit bus.  I was a bit taken aback,  I said 'I don't really look that old and decrepit,  do I?' That was about 15 years ago and now it happens quite a lot.
    Nice people.

My third grandchild was born a fortnight ago. Also, every time I stand up, the crackling of my joints sometimes makes me think I'm a bowl of cereal.
