What are some actual (physical) pains you’ve ever experienced as a result of being extremely sleepy?

For example, tired, itchy eyes, or stiff neck, or headache, or muscle spasms.

If I'm extremely sleepy I just fall asleep - am so out to it that I've no idea what I feel.

If I'm extremely overtired (for instance, driven to stay awake to meet deadlines) I tend to get a headache, be more prone to dizzy spells, get sore or aching muscles and muscle weakness. I also notice slowed reflexes and responses, impaired decision-making and judgement, and irritability.

My work is not nearly as good when I'm over-tired, but a deadline is a deadline - from those above me, there are no excuses and no reprieves.
The only way I can get around this is to take on less work.

True story ---------------  When I was, oh, like 20, I worked in a local motorcycle dealership. A good-lookin' married chick approached me one day and asked; "Racer, let's go to bed".  All I could say is; "I'm not sleepy".

Wait, what does that have to do with the question?
