Discussion»Questions»Human Behavior» My fortune cookie said "Be kind to yourself. You're doing the best you can." Is that statement encouraging or depressing?
I, too, most of the time, do not see my performances in glowing terms; I'm awfully hard on myself a lot of the time. I'm realizing that I am, indeed, doing OK. Most of the time, the people in my life are so much kinder to me than I am to myself. It's time for me to "be kind to yourself."
I think its meant to be encouraging and also as healthy advice. If you do the best you can and don't beat yourself up thinking you could be doing better you won't get high blood pressure from being stressed out. Cheers and happy weekend!
