For me, it's sauerkraut. Well, at least for now. I gag at the smell.
What's it for you?
Peas
Run Forrest Run!!
Red hot pickled sausage from a gas station. I got dared to eat one when I was a teenager. It's the grossest thing ever.
How could anyone hate cucumbers? I absolutely love cucumbers!
Don't get me wrong. I can appreciate that there is a little something for everyone. Haggis turns my stomache and so does blood sausage.
Aside from this, I have peculiar quirk. I hate raw tomatos, but...I like everything made from them and I'll eat them if they are diced really small. I always thought I was weird and was told so by others, but then I started running into people just like me. Imagine that? lol
It's a combination taste and texture.
That is so funny about raw tomatoes. I have the exactly same thoughts. Love the taste of them and probably love them in anything. But they better be sliced very thin or be diced very small. It IS all about the texture and taste.
I love them, but I know you are not alone! Hee hee.
...just the texture. I like the taste in a salad. Weird, I know.
This effect of dislike, or distrust, of tomatoes could conceivable be something to do with genetic memory (but agreed, who knows, and if you even believe in the possibility of such a thing - I do).
Tomatoes (the potato family) were originally native to parts of the Americas.
I know that in England tomatoes were, in early days, shunned by many. Maybe the bright red color was taken as a warning of distastefulness or possible poisonous, but it is also true the lead in pewter table-wear was liable to interact unfavorably with the acidity of the tomatoes. If the latter, it was clever of them to make the causal connection. I have read that tomatoes became accepted there because of the widespread consumption by Spanish immigrants to Britain and their longer familiarity with the fruit.
Just a passing observation for what it's worth.
Avocado. The texture, the looks, the taste. All awful.
I'm not against any specific ingredient, but some of the sickly-sweet desserts make me nauseous just looking at them.
lol. poor thing!
I like it as a guacamole dip. Eating it any other way does not appeal to me either.
I'm not into really sweet stuff either. I don't like anything sticking to my teeth.
Her expression says it all!
I could, however, live off of sauerkraut. :P
no, i can pretty much eat anything
Ever smeel that stuff when it goes bad?! Cripes!
Anything prepared with blood.
Noooooooooooooooooooooo!
Undercooked food. Pickled pigs feet. Tripe. Blue cheese. There are probably a lot of foods I wouldn't want to try. And a lot I would like to try.
