I grew up in the “rural suburbs.” Not completely out in the boons, but we had a bunch of land and horses and had somewhat of a commute into town. I currently live in a smaller city (not too far out of a larger metropolitan area though) that is surrounded by tons of rural area, and full of country folk
Yes my dad bought a farm land in Manitoba in 1947 when I was 2 years old. Our home was 6 miles away from the village of High Bluff where there were 2 stores/post office and a blacksmith shop. We were 15 miles from the nearest city -Portage La Prairie.
This is the closest Google Street View got. He slowed down, looked down my road and got scared so he decided to keep going. Ugh, I was waiting for him.
In Crete ,We had a two acre plot with only one house visible about 3/400 yards from our land... in London our home is detached ,but has houses all around us.....our other home fifty miles north of London stands in its own grounds and there are no other homes close by ...
i always lived in a populated city , but my grandfather has a house in the north of quebec province - where there's loooot of forest and not much houses.
i went there a few times in my life and it was fun enjoiying there
