Now we don't know her intention but we can assume she was trying to give her husband/herself/her party Brownie points and attract votes of those who are Jewish. She can't have planned to sound insulting or demeaning or disparaging. But she did. D'ya think some folks took offense at it? She is clearly very enthusiastic and talkative.
