The extra REM sleep displaces non-REM sleep. Supposedly, these differences may account for higher intelligence in lefties as well as greater creativity. On the flip side, their "quality of sleep" is diminished. It doesn't go into how that might impact a person though. Everything I've ever read put a focus on getting enough REM sleep- that not getting that was what caused the most problems. I can't find anything on reduced NREM though. Anybody out there know?
