There was another resistance in France centuries before when the peasants eyed the aristocracy as being evil oppressors and rose up against them. People are always the same. Oppressors oppress and the oppressed fight back...sometimes to the death. Human nature. A wealthy New York dame whose name I forget spoke disdainfully of "the little people".
