What product(s) would people NOT buy if it (they) were to be offered BOGAOF*. (See examples below.)

*Buy one, get another one free
[I know, I know, practically everyone everywhere says BOGO. It’s just that when you buy one, you get one, that’s what the transaction is. The acronym isn’t accurate, because it’s supposed to mean that if you buy one, they offer a second one also, either for free or at a discount. Technically, it’s BOGT: buy one, get two.

Examples: king-sized bed, spare tire, iron lung, enema-blocker kit . . .

We call them BOGOs here. (Buy one get one). I have not purchase anything that meets the criteria of your question. I would re-phrase it as "What would you not buy....?"

Not if the 2nd is not free.  As I said sometimes the 2nd is 50% off or another type of discount.

Personally when I run as sale, I do the BOGO 50%

So you would prefer BOOO sale?

That could be a good sale for a Halloween store.  ie. Costume City's annual BOOO!!! SALE

And I can tell what happens if you try a BOGT sale...customers would claim they are getting 3 for the price of 1.   Buy 1...get 2.  1+2= 3.
You would be amazed at the number of people who try and say: I bought item #1 for $50 so now they get to pick out $50 worth of smaller items...(3, 4 etc)  No, there is a reason it must say Buy 1 get 1. This post was edited by my2cents at March 3, 2020 6:56 AM MST

    As far as I know, kidneys are usually donated;
selling is illegal in most parts of the world.

But it's a good point, what living donor would want to give two?

Then again, if the donor died in an accident, two would be no problem.

    It's 'BOGOF'.

Colon cancer testing kit (they're a pain in the ... well... you know)

    Mail-order bride (one's bad enough)

Ben-Gay male enhancement cream (you'll never finish off 1 tube, let alone 2)

Have never heard the term BOGO here.

Those ads always strike me as weird.
Who needs two knife-sharpeners, two dusters, vacuum cleaners, etc?
I suppose you could give one to a relative or friend,
but then you'd first have to be sure that they need it.

Bargains and discounts are rarely what they claim.
The price is boosted to at least double in order to make you believe they're doing you a favour by offering special deals.
It just turns me off -- prefer to walk away from dishonest sales pitches.

Whatever happened to Dale Carnegie's philosophy of honesty in business and providing the customer with exactly what they want? This post was edited by inky at March 3, 2020 6:57 AM MST
