Did you read Clancy's Red Storm Rising?

Yes, but it was a long time ago and I can't remember much about it.  Another good one is Hunt for Red October. This post was edited by SpunkySenior at April 1, 2020 4:55 PM MDT

Meh no, I don’t have the attention span for books. I have something sooo much better for you :) I was on a conference call earlier today with some people in Australia. They directed me to a link of a Zoo there that is live  streaming some of their animals during the coronavirus downtime. It’s my new most favourite thing ..go on the penguin cam!! :)

Totally thinking outside the binds of a book and suggesting a world I am absolutely interested in.
Thank you for the link.  I am a huge penguin fan and have been for years, even before Happy Feet.  (Still a great movie.  It combines two things I am interested in.  Penguins and Dance!  Who can't love that?!)
    Thanks Jaimie.
    You defintely deserve
    SHOTS!!!
Happy clinks of glass, and Healthy Thoughts and Vibes!
    *CLINK!*
    Thanks Jaimie!

  • I forgot to add the author, W. E. Davis.  I found the 2nd book on Amazon.  I'll check with the library tomorrow to see if they have it first.  Our library is doing sidewalk checkout.  That means I call ahead of time, arrange for pickup, and they put it on a cart by the sidewalk. :P

Very Nice!  Thanks Wakko.  :) :)
Our library isn't as organized as yours.  They just have a book drop off that you can access from the outside.
I know.  It sounds really primitive for L.A.  It's because we live on the outskirts.  Thank Goodness. I could go downtown but I don't want to deal with the city.
Thanks again and please try to stay Healthy and Happy!

I am surprised Stephan Colbert has time to sleep, let alone write a book and have it published.
Now, here is a man who knows how to organize his time, his talent, and his humor and make them all a success.
That, within itself makes anything he writes worth reading.
Up on the fridge it goes!
Thanks Nonoose Stay safe and Healthy!  Always Happy Thoughts to you!

Tell me what genres you like best, and I'll come up with a list for you.
    You say how many.

I'm still waiting for her to say what genre, and how many books she wants in her list.

Just suggest something.  If it's a genre she doesn't like, she won't read it.

True, but I'd much rather offer something she'd love.

I love mysteries, fiction, philosophy, adventure, and a little fantasy.  I tend to shy away from sci-fi with the exception of Douglas Adams and his trilogy.  Those were truly entertaining.  BUT, as a general rule, I don't like books where I can't pronounce the character's names.  I like J.R.R. Tolkein but those are more fantasy than sci-fi.  Those are the only exceptions.
Otherwise, like I said murder mysteries, Agatha Christie, and those sorts of things suit my fancy.
    Thanks for asking bookworm!

There are no books about me (yet), so don’t even waste your time.

I read that one, too. I rally enjoyed it for so many reasons.  (I'm keeping that typo - - rally -- ha! Was it one of the Gabor sisters? "Rally, I do"? For some reason, "Rally I do" is in my head.)

    I liked "The Fountainhead," too.

And "Anthem," in some ways, was my favorite that I've read of Rand.
    :)
