I loved that novel. It was not just a brilliant reflection of social changes at the time, but also an insight into the pathological thinking amid some of the barons of big business. It was also unwittingly prophetic, showing the directions capitalism would take in future. Ayn Rand was among the few writers in the world whose first drafts needed no editing - a rare talent. I feel so envious of her skills. (Silly, I know, but there it is.)
One of my favorites. I've read it twice. The first time I think I was too young to grasp all the concepts presented. The second time, when I was a older I got much more out of it. Every word creates a whole bunch of words to follow and when put in order, correctly, finds a story, hidden within.... inspired by just a simple word.

I'm somewhat of an ex'pert with slang from growing up in London all my life....it's where it was mostly invented .... Im not saying that I'm not pert any more ,cuz that would be just lying.....hehe...
I didn't know that. I figured slang came from using words in the wrong places when you didn't know the true meaning and laziness of the tongue and mind. Then, there is always the intended "turn of meanings," like gay and gay. Not a very good example. I know many gay people who are also gay. It can go for both meanings. Finally, the made up words like f*ck. When did that become a bad word and what was the origin of giving it the meaning it was intended for? Today, it doesn't mean sh*t. I do believe the next generations have used swear words so freely they have incorporated their way into regular vocabulary. What a drag. It used to be so fun to feel all "adult" and use these words and not get in trouble.
Anyway, as we both know, language is ever changing and therefore; the dictionaires are too. Yipppee!

The f word is nothing to do with swearing really...it's the only word ever that can be used in so many different ways...it's universal and shows shock, amazement, joy, and just about every other emotions available to humans to....it's not always meant to be used offensively either...:)
I like question and answer books of different kinds, maybe a fictional Christmas Book that's to do with Christian, and fictional Halloween Book. I may have to search other books at the store or online that tells about magics, spells, etc.
