They were talking industrial buildings in my area. Not only did that idea fail, but the instigators were voted out of office, as were the geniuses who built a 'traffic circle' nearby. I hate traffic circles!

There is a strip club in Detroit called Chix on Dix.  It is on Dix Avenue near the Dearborn 'River Rouge' Ford Plant.

We had one next to our military recruiting offices. They moved across the street when the rumors started. There is also one next to the teacher's union office.

I have a funny story about strip clubs.
Many years ago, when Don and I first started dating, he went to strip joints.  Shall I continue?  It is a clean story; but, if it is too much off the topic, I will refrain.
    :) :)

Pat and I used to do that, too...with another couple. It was a private club, bu the owner gave us the passwords.

Unfortunately, a "strip mall" isn't where you go shopping for strippers.

Strip clubs are private businesses, not government enterprises.

This touches base on a whole lot of pressing issues we would like and DO help via money, food, books, and clothes as donations.  Yet, there is thatunderline feeling I know is apparent in society.  In awee way many of us have a littleNIMBYs in us.

I would not like a prison, a cemetary, or a military base in my neighborhood.

A triumphant song, I must agree.
One that makes me grateful for all the men that woke to such a sound.
One that as comfortable as I have become in my gratitude of others would not like to wake up to.
I better get out of this conversation before I talk myself into circles.
It would be short. As will my life if I don't get to experiencing it.

What's wrong with a cemetery? It's quiet, and people are dying to get in!

Anything along the lines of biological/chemical/nuclear building, testing, or dismantling.

    military base
    airport
    rubbish dump
    chemicals factory
For any of these I'd move.

But it's irrelevant because we've made the decision to move anyway.
We're getting to old too manage the hard work of rural land maintenance
and the costs are sending us into penury.
As soon as this pandemic is over, we're putting the place on the market.

I don't need to decide. My street is a historic landmark residential zone with brownstones built in the 1800s. They're not being torn down.
