Can you post your least favourite song of all time, even though it was popular?

Similar to my favorite songs or songs that I like a lot, there isn't simply one song that I dislike the most, there are many songs I dislike a lot. Here are a few examples (and in no particular order):

I'm Too Sexy (For My Shirt)
    Don't Worry, Be Happy
    Pour Some Sugar On Me
Get Out of My Dreams (And Get Into My Car)
    Jenny Got A Gun

As any others occur to me, I will add to this list.

I hope Jenny gets a gun and shoots him.

      Oh.

Personally, I don't think that step is necessary, a bit extreme in my opinion, but getting rid of the songs until the end of time might be a better option.

Getting rid of the songwriters doesn't stop the songs themselves from being played again, especially from being played incessantly.

She does. In the song, she shoots her Dad because of sexual abuse.

I always liked the 1960's hit song; 'Louie Louie'.  Then years later, I read the real words, written by the original songwriter from Jamaica and I was just totally grossed out. No wonder they slurred the lyrics.

Do you remember when decades ago a Toledo radio station played that song for 24 straight hours? The worst thing ever in radio history.

Why were you grossed out, are the lyrics obscene or something?  I just read them myself, and I don't see what would have offended you.

The article, with lyrics, is gone.  So the nasty stuff has been changed to 'G' rated lyrics.

Hotel California. It isn't a bad song, but it's wayyyyyy over-hyped and overplayed.

OMG -- righty1!!!!!!! I am SO with you on that! I turn the station any time I hear it. Like you said, it's surely not a bad song but I avoid listening to it if I can. (I admit I prefer Don Henley's solo stuff to a lot of The Eagles, even though I like The Eagles a lot.)

AND -- get ready for a huge confession - - today, I was listening to Shawn Mullins' "Soul's Core" CD. And I always  like listening to this CD. but I don't pay attention to song titles, etc. (The big hit for Mullins on this album is his excellent-to-me "Lullaby.")
But there has always been this one song in particular I've always liked also. today I finally checked on the titlee- - and it's a cover of Kristofferson's "Sunday Mornin' Comin' Down"!!! Ha! "If it were a snake, it would've bitten me!" Ha! what an idiot I can be! Sometimes I simply do not pay attention. And it's happening more and more, unfortunately.
After our joking around on your Sunday Morning question, I wanted to share. :)

Oh, and this is cool --  on the liner notes, Mullins adds about the song - - "One of the first songs I ever heard and loved"

And it's the only song on this album that Mullins did not write himself. :)

I'll try to find Mullins doing the song and post it.

    :)

I'm just sitting here listening with my eyes closed (except for typing this lol).

    It's a beautiful version.

Don Henley's gonna have to wait for a bit...haha

I'm also with you 100%!  Great musical acts with scores of top hits, especially Number One hits, and the only one that gets played over and over again is diminished in popularity merely from repetition, while all of the other songs by the same groups never get airplay at all.

In addition to "Hotel California", another example is Journey's "Don't Stop Believin'". Great song, but it's not their ONLY ONE! Grrrrrrrrrr.

Another is ABBA. They seem to only play 'Dancing Queen'.

I think ABBA's "Dancing Queen" is a great example, too. And I don't get it (I realize ABBA seems to be a group people either love or hate; I love them) -- they had so many hits yet "Dancing Queen" is quite literally THE only song I ever hear on any radio station. I know that it is their biggest hit. But, still.

So, I'm going to post my favorite ABBA song which I've never heard on any radio station, ever.

"When All Is Said and Done"

    So excellent to me. :)

Indeed! "Livin' on a Prayer" is another. Every bar/club/pub in the world plays this at least ten times per night.

    lol ;p
