Long ago, Was in the wrong part of London.
Had long hair and a beard.
A bunch of Skinheads saw me and began to follow me,
until i was running and they were chasing me
down an alley. Saw a bunch of Garbage cans
in one yard and i jumped inside one.
    They continued looking for me
and even went where the garbage cans were
    knocking the garbage cans around
and talking how they were going to beat the
    crap out of me...Totally Scary!!

That does sound like a frightening event!
Please tell me the garbage cans were empty...;) :)

Do you think they chased you because of your long hair and beard?

If so, what a terrible reason.  I can see you in long hair without question and look good wearing it, too!
    Surfer style, ya know!
    :) :)

    Commiserations.
Long ago, I had a hard time in London too, just for being young and female.
I know exactly how terrifying it is.

There is always another swimsuit following the former.  It depends on your style and what you like that tells the tale of who will follow...
    ;) :)

Nothing in particular. Most follow me out of idle curiosity, just to see what I'm going to do next.

Hold on, there’s another one who is after him. (I should be jealous. Grr.)

Yes, I took my metal detector to the beach one time a long time ago when metal detectors were kind of a new thing.  I soon had about 6 kids and a couple of adults following me around.

    Not that I'm aware of.

Thankfully, no one has followed me since my days as a student in London.

Australia is a very different country; following here is a rare thing even in the cities.
Maybe it's to do with distances, the extreme physical inconvenience.
Or maybe it's just a different kind of society.
When it does happen, the perp usually turns out to be a tourist or recent immigrant who doesn't yet know our ways.

On a social site, only one person has ever said something that recalled that they'd followed me for a long time.
And there was nothing suspicious in it - just honest interest.
I was amazed, had never guessed.

Really, if anyone was following me in the cyber world, I'd have no way of knowing it.

What about other connotations of following a person, such as following his or her writings?
