If you were a police detective, what kind of questions do you think you would be asking?

And probably not expecting entirely truthful answers..

Do you have any apostrophes, colons, commas, or tildes on you? Is this the first time you've been caught failing to hyphenate?

“Let me see if I have this straight, Miss. You said his name is Randall D. Randolph, and that you haven’t seen him nor heard from him in about five or six months, right?” (Cough, cough.)

    Who,
    what,
    where,
    when,
    how,

    why.

I'd be watching for tells with the answers.
Does the witness move back slightly, or place themselves behind something or some part of themselves? What is their tone of voice and manner?
Does it match in a congruent way with their words?
Do the known facts match with what they are saying? If not, why not?
If I ask the same question several times, does the witness give contradictory answers? Or do the answers seem too much the same, too rehearsed?
What information is missing? This post was edited by inky at November 17, 2020 12:18 AM MST
