Did someone think you were gay?

:)

I love this parody of a Rihanna song (that I really like, too)

[I’m not familiar with the song nor with its parody.]
Several years ago, a woman who was either bi or a lesbian told me that there was absolutely NO way anyone would think I was gay or could mistake me for being gay. She said I don’t give off any such vibe, and that in fact, the vibe I give off is quite the opposite.

That's funny! :) Doesn't really surprise me, either.

    (Here is Rihanna's song, "Stay")

  • Yes, people assume that about me sometimes given my lifelong disinterest in dating or sex with girls, but I don't have any interest in sex because I'm asexual. Not people's first assumption, that's for sure.

(I have two friends who seem very similar to how you have described your asexual self, both here, and around the site at times.  I get your point. And, interestingly, with my having friends who are also asexual, when I might question, I almost first think 'asexual'  for someone  -- before other sexuality possibilities. I don't know if that made sense.)

I admit I actually only made up a question as a reason to post the fun-to-me song. But thanks for your interesting answer!

Like I admitted to Nevan B - I just asked the question as an excuse to post the fun-to-me song. But thank you for your answer, a m b e r!

I admit I got uncomfortable reading your answer. I hope you are, and were, okay.

No unless you mean gay as in happy and carefree then yes I get that a lot. Cheers and happy weekend!

In reference to the posted song in my question, I meant sexually gay. But any gay is a good gay. Congrats!

    Yes.
I am not and have never been a girly girl. So people made assumptions.

I believe one or two of my neighbors may have thought that because one of the gals with whom I was friendly in my building and I used to go out to dinner and the movies on the weekends.  Neither of us had boyfriends at the time.

Thanks for answering, SpunkySenior. I admit I didn't even really ask the question to be answered so interestingly by everyone. I only asked it to share the song parody, ha! I don't' even know if anyone listened to either it or the original Rihanna song (posted under Randy D's answer).

[ No, that does not mean to pressure you to listen, ha. :) ]

I bought a "Choose Life!" T-shirt in the mid-80s in an effort to impress a girl I fancied. Backfired badly, she thought it proved I was gay (even though George wasn't "out" by that time).
