They are a warrior at heart so a person should think twice before giving  them any guff. Cheers!

I like this definition. I appreciate and admire this sort of fierce in people!

Mean, cruel, angry (or easily prone to anger), vindictive, aggressive, etc.

    Another definition, not so admirable.

I'm often not literal it seems.

My first 'take' on the word for a personality description was "very passionate."  ("Passionate" in my head here could be either very so-called "positive" or so-called "negative.")

EDIT: And I promise - - I saw, read and responded to this question and thread before coming across another question of yours. :)

I'm more in agreement with you than with the others.  I think of a person who is committed to doing right for standing up for what they believe, for defending others who may not think the same way but who have a right to a different opinion.

Yes, those are along the lines I was thinking, too.  :)

Agree. There are different tactics and methods of doing this, though. Different styles, if you will. My idea of fierce includes a kind of "I don't give a shi*t what you think" attitude that I respect, but also scares me a bit at times. Hehe!

You can get your message across that you don't take any nonsense without being violent or appearing to be so.  I found that if someone starts something with me and I just stare at them without saying anything at all, they get the message.

Fierce staring is intense. Like I said, I think it's admirable. I didn't mean fear of violence, just the intensity of it, I guess. My own issues.

As in the intense fierce staring you do when I ring your doorbell and you spend several minutes contemplating whether you should call the police and await their response time or just release the hounds immediately and have it done and over with once and for all? Grrrrrrrr.

Hold on, I left my van double-parked on the street in front of your place, I don’t want to get a ticket. BRB.

Like Welby said, 'passionate'. I see a person decribed as 'fierce' to be driven, tenacious and goal-oriented.
