Question for men: Do you launder new shirts, pants and underwear before wearing them?

I always launder machine-washable new shirts, pants and underwear before wearing them to soften the fabric.

    Always!   Residual chemicals from the manufacturing process can remain on the material.  These chemicals can cause allergic reactions  that may not show up for a few days after the clothing was worn.  Dyes can also leach out and be absorbed by the skin.  Washing new clothing before wearing is a small price to pay to protect one's health.

    I take them to the local mafia laundry ... where they exchange the items for others.
    A week later I go back and exchange the other items for the originals, which have been laundered through other users who also launder their new clothes.
