    Jo Stafford     "Haunted Heart"

I enjoy listening to anything Stafford sings, just to hear her voice.   :)

I'm glad you liked Stafford's song.

I started looking at other songs and found "You Belong to Me." I am only familiar with Patsy Cline (who may be my very favorite singer of any singer) singing that song but, no surprise, I really like Stafford's version, too. i know it has nothing to do with haunting, though,  :)

And if you get the chance -- this is absolutely hilarious to me -- Jo Stafford and her husband and band leader/pianist Paul Weston created the fictional comic music team of "Jonathan and Darlene Edwards" -- a bad lounge act trying to be great. Yes, she hits wrong notes on purpose, wrong entrances and Weston hits wrong notes. I just laugh and laugh. Both Stafford and Weston being so musically gifted is what makes it al lso funny to me. My grandparents had one of the "Edwards" comic albums and I was hooked ever since, ha. I've gone on too long again, ha. EDIT: I'll try to come back and post it

Here's Jonathan and Darlene's "Paris in the Spring".  It may "haunt" you in the best of ways! Ha!

I do know the “you belong to me” song :) It must be because I went through a Patsy Cline phase. I like her a lot too. I think you post that song twice though. I started the second one and it’s same.

The only thing I can think of is the theme song to My Mother The Car. The show was about a guy that bought a car that was haunted by the ghost of his dead mother. If you are looking for songs for Halloween I highly recommend Cold Ethel by Alice Cooper it is about having a  romantic relationship with a zombie. Cheers and happy weekend!

I love Alice Cooper, I saw him live once in the early 2000’s and I was hooked. I was never a fan of him before that but my dad was and my sister and I bought him tickets to a concert for his birthday or Father’s Day.  We got him second row tickets but unfortunately he couldn’t go because he was in a play that conflicted with the date. But the good thing was he gave the tickets back to us and I discovered the awesomeness that is Alice Cooper :)

This might sound like bragging but Alice Cooper nodded his head at me when we drove past him on Woodward avenue in Detroit. Cheers and happy weekend! This post was edited by Nanoose at October 8, 2021 8:43 PM MDT

Cold Ethyl is about necrophilia. She's not a zombie, she's a corpse. Cooper often did stuff about subjects that nobody else would touch - Only Women Bleed is about domestic violence, stood alone until Suzanne Vega did Luka from the victim's point of view.

I'm going to  have to keep thinking  it is about a zombie because necrophilia seems too weird to me. I loved the song Only Women Bleed  and it helped me understand woman (that they are only looking for a even break). Luka was a real sad song. Cheers and happy weekend! :)
Here's "Tiptoe through the Tulips"   sung with a really good men's chorus -- you'll get the idea of their humor -- I prefer "Paris in the Spring," though.

Oh, well -- "Paris in the Spring" is a tough one for me to try to post. Though the only video I found on Youtube has "Jonathan and Darlene Edwards" as the Youtuber - - so the rights might not be available to copy or something, maybe.

I don’t like that one lol. I wouldn’t have known it humour if you didn’t tell me :) Now I’m concerned I’ll have it stuck in my head… HAUNTED ;p

Yeah, it's sort of in-your-face. But Weston hits lots of wrong notes on the piano, Edwards hits wrong notes and fails to start singing the new key when they change keys. (Of course, they're doing it all on purpose.)

I'll be on a mission to find a better example . Ha!  :)

Here's one of their last songs they did, I believe. "Stayin' Alive" -- but hey -- maybe -- -- stick with Stafford in her "real " voice. Go listen to her "You Belong to Me" again -- fast.  :)
