    OK, Martina, since Stu already started, I’ll correct your post for you.  The distance from your house to the former Tim Hortons location in Virginia Beach that is now closed is 5257 km until you leave South America, then 416.7 nautical miles to the Dominican Republic, then 181.3 km until you leave the Dominican Republic, then 146.7 nautical miles to Turks and Caicos, then 10.62 km until you leave Turks and Caicos, then 828.8 nautical miles until you reach the United States, then it’s 112.5 miles to that permanently closed Tim Hortons in Virginia Beach.

    I used nautical miles for distances over water, kilometers for distances over land in other countries and miles for distances over land in the USA.

    OK. Rather confusing. I stick to kilometers when distances are international. Nautical miles would only be used if traveling by boat/ship.

    in my city, i once was driving on the same street for a long time, and it had i think 3-4 tim hortons on the same road for all i drove. 

     

    yes there are many in my city, but strange to hear they are in USA too

    There are McDonald's restaurants in Canada, so why not Tim Horton's in the US, eh? It's just a matter of franchisees operating in different places.

    Oddly, the Toledo area has about 15 of them within 50 miles. There are no others in Ohio.
