Suppose you answer a knock on your door the person identifies themself as 'a certain member' of Answermug, how would you react?

You might like to invite this so-and-so person to come in but first be reasonably certain and assured they are the fine so-and-so person who they say they are.

I'd ask a question that would identify him or her positively.
Randy D: "How do you feel about tildes?"
Element-99: "How many electrons in the outer shell of a U-238 atom in its least excited state?"
m2c: "How badly do you want to kiss His Royal Orangeness's fundament?"
    etc.

Right, I suppose, yes but we Answermuggers are basically decent good people anyway...

Agreed, but there are one or two I wouldn't want to invite in.

That’s good to learn that there are only a few!

(Comma after each of the words “door” and “in”.)

I guess this means I’m not welcome at your place, right?

I agree with spunky, there are one or two that I would slam the door in their face.

I'll let the dogs decide whether or not to let him/her in.

Hey, I' m a cat person but at least three separate  times from different people and different dogs, I meet the humans' dog and the dog comes right up to me and gets close to me, happily, and the humans shake their heads in disbelief -- "This dog hates people! You're the first person that she/he has ever acted this way upon a first meeting."  I'm pretty awesome.  Ha!

I trust dogs more and more easily than I trust humans!

    Merry Christmas, Welby!

Put your dog and your wife in the trunk of your car...open it up an hour later and see who is happy to see you.

Trial basis. If he annoys me or pees on anything, he's going to the pound!
