Last night in Coon Rapids, Minnesota.
Wait, did someone say “Minnesota”?

It wasn’t one particular instance, but what immediately came to mind when I read your question was being overseas in Asia during monsoon season. It is hard to describe for those who have never been in a place where a monsoon hits. It’s not a question of one storm, one time, one day, because monsoon season conjures up a lot of surprises. Over a period of hours or days or weeks the weather fluctuates from one extreme to another during monsoon season, it might actually be calm or even just a little bit rainy for a certain time. But when the heaviest rains and the heaviest winds hit, it can really be destructive. Those calm periods can last for just a few minutes, just a few hours, or all day long, all night long, and it’s just the same with the heaviest rains and heaviest winds; it can be just a few minutes, just a few hours, or all day long, all night long. Everything about timing is extremely unpredictable during the monsoon. Another thing about monsoons is that the temperatures also fluctuate greatly, going from very cold to very humid. This is especially true when the monsoon borders on being a typhoon, I went through that at least a few times.
