I was taught how to change a tire when I was very young.  We had a crappy car and went on lots of backwoods outings, so tire changing was a necessity.
    Yes, i've changed 1 or 2 tires.

I know how in theory.  When I  was young and cute, I  never had to and later I  joined AAA.

Theoretically, yes, I know how to change a tire, but I've never had to change one.

I believe I could change one if needed.  But I have never had to do it.   Normally, there is a man around who will change a tire for a woman if needed.

I am grateful to all those sexist men over the years whom have not allowed me to change a tire.

Ha -- I came back after seeing you had liked my reply -- and I smiled again at your reply to Element 99; smiled at his original reply to you, too.  :)

Believing isn't even close to good enough. If you've never done it, then you don't know how. You'll have to wait until a man comes along (or a woman whose dad bothered to teach her, like my daughter is).

My Dad is a tire salesman and a mechanic.  I can change a tire.  I have seen thousands of tires changed.  I can change a tire....just have not had to.... This post was edited by my2cents at June 29, 2023 10:50 PM MDT

I have replaced tires on cars, but I have never changed one into anything other than a tire. And I have never even seen a "tyre."

Thank you. "Tire" is what you do when you change too many tyres.

I can change an entire set of tyres in half an hour.

I don't own a rattle gun or torque wrench, and I'm clumsy with a wheel brace. I'm pushed to do more than one in half an hour. Thankfully I've never had to. I get the experts to replace the tyres when they're worn (I don't have the wrist strength to get a tubeless tyre back on the rim given that the only tool I have is a tyre iron - it's tough enough doing a bicycle), I only drag out the jack when I get a puncture or blow-out. I've never had more than one of those at a time.

You missed the pun. I also would not be able to do so for similar reason.

And they also drive on the wrong side of the road, so of course they use strange spelling.

    Bloody blighters.

To quote British comedian Jimmy Carr:
"It's OUR language,  YOU f**ked it up."

Or Henry Higgins in My Fair Lady, lamenting the poor English spoken by supposed "English speakers":
"In America, they haven't used it for years."
