Have you ever camped out in a tent? If so, what's the most fun you remember having while tent-camping?

If I'd been alone, I would have gone elsewhere!

On more than one occasion, I've taken one look at a room and said, 'no way' and pivoted.

Yeah, it is beautiful out there, in Montenegro, that entire coastline. There was one small blanket - or was it a sweater? I was in my teens. Others were sleeping in the car; I remember my stepdad staying awake and trying to make sure us three kids on the beach were evenly splitting the one blanket-thing. I eventually got up and left the blanket-thing to my cousin and our neighbour while I walked the beach. No fire, and pretty darn cold!

I think I'm like you: I need to plan things. I certainly don't just leave it all to others anymore, hehe.

Sounds like a memorable and impactful experience!

I really enjoy planning. Sometimes I wonder if I enjoy that more than actually doing.

Like most, in Scouts as a youngster.

For a couple of years, wife and self used tents on occasion before we migrated to caravanning. Disposed of them after she passed away.

Last outing was for Boys' Brigade officer training in freezing Grantown on Spey.

Yes, I definitely think RV or even a cabin are more to my liking at this stage in life. Air mattress and a campsite very near to the facilities at the very least!

That looks to be a beautiful place!

Maybe when I was 11. As an adult, I appreciate beds and indoor plumbing.

I really hadn't thought of the plumbing aspect. Another reason to choose a cabin or RV instead!

At least I'm not in diapers.

    Yet.

If you spend all your life in light-polluted cities, you'll never see the stars. Not properly. I watched the Leonid shower a few nights ago, camped for one of the few fine nights we've had in recent weeks (quite a lot of Australia is flooded right now).

I have spent time in the country and seen plenty of stars. I just prefer to sleep indoors.
