Who is a singer you admire because he/she can successfully (to you) sing in a variety of styles?

Fergie for me.

After liking "London Bridge" for "forever," I did not even realize it was her singing on the song (and she even announces her name at beginning of song, ha!) and "I Gotta Feeling."

She doesn't even sound like the same singer to me in these three songs. I love that.

"Big Girls Don't Cry"

"London Bridge"

with Black Eyed Peas "I Gotta Feeling"

I can see that with both of them.

Wait, I mean that I can hear that with both of them.  :)

Robert Plant sings in two different styles in the same song, Stairway to Heaven. So did Freddie Mercury in Bohemian Rhapsody.

Missed replying to your answer, sorry!
I admit to not being a huge fan (mainly for the "What about Us?" song - - I feel like she's yelling or something, ha; though, that's probably the point of the song).
    I admire her voice, though.

No problem. I do like her singing voice.
She is who came to mind first as most varied singing style. Most any good singer can do their normal style and then a ballad.
But P!nk started as hip hop, then rock and even country along with the ballads.

Unfortunately, even though I immensely enjoy an extremely wide variety of music and an equally extremely wide variety of singers, I do not possess the nuanced ear to distinguish subtleties that you mention in your question.

    That's okay, no worries.
But, wow -- knowing they were there whenever I wanted to go listen to great music was cool.  :)

    What a group!  :)
