If most people had gone through what he is and has been going through, they would be babbling idiots.

In Trump's case, yes.  And it sounds rather restrained to me.

Thank you. I appreciate getting your take on it.

It does not. It sounds more like wishful thinking. Trump knows Harris is going to defeat him in 2024. Cheers!

It sounded delusional to me and I wondered if all the talk about his cognition had some truth to it.

He is delusional. He is now saying he will debate Harris and he added I will expose Kamala during the Debate the same way I exposed Crooked Joe, Hillary, and everyone else during Debates. Only I think Kamala will be easier.”

He didn’t expose anybody and if he thinks Harris will be easiest he is supper delusional. Cheers!

So everyone knew Biden has a demenished mental capacity?   I actually agree, Harris,  the Biden administration and the media all knew and chose to cover it up and lie to the American people.

These are the thoughts of a man who is running scared that he might actually be defeated come November.

I don't know if he believes it or thinks he can convince people Biden can just take back the nomination. No matter what, it's going to be a close race, and this doesn't seem helpful to me.

Trump has no ability to filter what he thinks and says.  Hopefully, that will be his downfall in the coming election.

Wondering what Trump will claim when Biden doesn't crash the Democrat National Convention to take back the nomination. My guess is he will claim Harris had him sedated so he couldn’t make it to the convention. Cheers!

Trump doing what he does best.  Mastering and controlling the media.
This gets Biden back in the media. Reminds people of Harris covering and hiding Biden's dementia.  And highlights that NO one voted for Harris to be the nominee.

I hadn't thought of it that way. Maybe because most Harris supporters know that Biden is not senile,  just old. Anyone who wanted to challenge Harris was free to do so. The few who did, did not get the 300 signatures needed. Prominent Democrats endorsed her. She secured enough delegates to win the nomination. All the rules of the DNC were followed.

You might want to look into the GOP primaries that were cancelled in 2019, in spite of there being other candidates.

I do agree that he manages to keep his name in the media, but I haven't seen post  this in Corporate media, maybe I just missed it. It's interesting that if his idea was to insert controversy, he would do it in way that makes him look foolish This post was edited by Jane S at August 29, 2024 12:16 AM MDT

It is different when talking about an incumbent POTUS candidate,  states often save their money and do not hold a POTUS primary.

There was not one vote for Harris as the Democrat POTUS nominee by any regular Democrat party member.   Yes, was by their rules.  I even said they would do it. Because it was allowed in their rules. I did get the timing incorrect though. They booted Biden out the door much sooner than I predicted.  As I said that was a mistake by Trump, he should have never agreed to the debate until Biden was the offical nominee.

I can understand canceling them, if there is no one else running and no other names on the ballot. I know the candidates didn't think it was fair, but I guess that's how it goes.

I don't know why Republicans care how Democrats got their candidate. It's not really their business.

Why all we hear is how Trump and MAGA Republicans are a threat to democracy,  we find it quite ironic that the Dems are the ones with a candidate who no one voted for.

I disagree about it not being a Republican's/independent 's business...as Americans it is all of our business. This post was edited by my2cents at August 9, 2024 7:11 PM MDT

Nobody but Democrat Party members are allowed into the DNC, where she won the nomination unopposed. No vote is required for a blank ballot.
Biden dropped out. Had he dropped dead (which wasn't all that unlikely,  at his age COVID could have killed him), would the Republicans still be screaming about it? You bet your a$$ they would.
This has almost happened before - RFK had won all the primaries in 1968 after Lyndon Johnson dropped out and would have been the nominee but for being shot dead. Nobody really wanted Hubert but at that point he was Hobson's choice. This post was edited by Slartibartfast at August 10, 2024 5:37 AM MDT

There are open primaries. There are states that allow independents in primaries.  And there are states like mine, we do not register with a party. We go in and ask for the party ballot we want.   I have voted in the Democrat primary in the past. And if I lived in NY/CA/IL I would be a registered Democrat so my vote would matter (in the primaries)
But regardless,  no regular voter cast single vote for Harris. But they want to call MAGA and Trump a threat to democracy.

DNC can certainly have their own rules. But for the record Harris is not the nominee yet. That is not until the convention  makes it official.  Harris got less than 1000 votes for her at the top of the ticket.  She is unopposed because they know Trump is going to win. She had a dozen people turn down her VP position.  They know as well.
The results will be the same as back then too, nobody wants Harris either.

Demographic is important. If the under-35s show up and vote, Trump's campaign is pointless - they're behind Kamala pretty much as a bloc.

Funny, the under 35s I know are not for Harris.   A coipl3 do not like Trump and likely stay home.  But they are in no way simply a solid voting block anymore that all black, hispanic, white, women, men etc are.

But yes. Elections always come down to you gets their voters out...barring cheating of course.

Trump will claim cheating again if he loses, he's already telegraphed it. He'll definitely lose the popular vote again, the question is whether the disproportionate representation in the EC will get him across the line again like it did in 2016.
