Do you Trust this man with your private information?

The world’s richest man may now have access to the confidential personal information of every taxpayer in the United States.

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent on Friday granted Elon Musk and his minions at the faux-agency DOGE full access to the Treasury’s massive federal payment system.

It’s not at all clear what he plans to do with this unprecedented access. But I figure because he is working for a very spiteful and greedy man it won’t be anything good. Cheers!

I wouldn't trust him with anything.  he's more arrogant than trump.  I could say more, but it would be censored.

I can't believe that no one is doing anything to stop what is going on here.

I wouldn't trust him to give me the correct change for a dollar. I am in complete disbelief over what is happening in our government.

I'm not.  As long as the xenophobic, nationalist agenda is being pushed, those with ideologies that belong in the 19thC will be happy.

This goes beyond xenophobia or nationalism, which have always been present to some extent. I am watching this country turn into a kleptocracy.

Yep, I agree. A far-right kleptocracy, oligarchy and the foundations of a fourth Reich.

This is what happens when the law permits a foreign billionaire (whose wealth was built on apartheid-era child slave labor) to bankroll an election campaign. He now owns Trump. This post was edited by my2cents at February 5, 2025 8:03 AM MST

    Musk is not a foreigner.
Elon's money comes from PayPal, SpaceX, and Tesla.
    Trump does not obey anyone.

    Musk is a South African.
He'd not have been able to buy PayPal and Twitter, or form SpaceX, Tesla and Starlink, but for inherited wealth from his father's emerald and diamond mines, extracted by unpaid black children.
Trump thinks he's driving, it's cute.

He is a legal American citizen....not a foreigner.

Musk and his brother created Zip2 in 1995 and sold it for millions in 1999. Then created X.com which merged with another company to form PayPal which was sold to Ebay for more than billion. And that money was uses to start SpaceX etc.

Musk family never had any connections to a diamond mine.  Musk's father never owned any part of the emerald mine. He traded a plane for some emeralds.

If Trump suddenly starts to support carbon taxes to fight climate change,  then you can claim Musk is leading Trump.

    Definition of foreigner:

a person born in or coming from a country other than one's own.

Musk is a naturalized citizen.  Naturalization is a process by which a foreign national obtains U.S. citizenship by going through the “naturalization process”.

Musk was a citizen of South Africa (a foreigner) who came to the U.S. and, after going through the naturalization process, became a U.S. citizen.  As such, he cannot hold the office of President of the United States, but he is acting as though he has been elected to that office.

Musk was a S African  who became a Canadian citizen who then became a USA citizen.
He no longer belongs to any other country  or owes them any allegiance.

Elon is behaving like a person who was pointed by the President to cut waste in Federal government.  An appointment that everyone who voted for Trump knew he was gping to make.

At the time he applied for American citizenship, he was a CANADIAN citizen, i.e., a FOREIGNER and presumably took some Canadian oath of allegiance.

He is not a foreigner NOW. NOW he is a US citizen.   We are talking about a CURRENT event.

As I said, Musk IS not a foreigner.

But, yes, before 2002 Musk WAS a foreigner.   This post was edited by my2cents at February 4, 2025 5:58 PM MST

Despite being South African, he can't be classed as a foreigner as he became a US citizen in 2002. If he'd had a different skin tone, I'm sure some on the extreme right wouldn't be defending the status of his citizenship as much.

I’m wondering if there is a chapter in the Project 2025 book about the benefits of obtaining the personal information of every single tax payer in America - and what you can do with that information once you have it.

    Cheers!

He is looking at expenses.  Not individual taxes.

In fact,  it has been reported that the Treasury just pays any bill submitted without any verification or checking for duplicates.   No invoice has been denied....

You don't know what he's looking at or what he will wind up using our personal information for in the future.  If a Democrat did this, you'd be up in arms, but because it's Trusk doing it, it's perfectly fine.  What hypocrisy.

I bet Musk has all that private information backed up – just in case he looses his access to it. He and Trump could do a lot of corrupt things with that info – including revenge on the people they consider enemy's. Cheers!

He brought in a squad of young engineers (hackers) to assist him. This is how a coup begins. Non-elected people without security clearance take control of government information and start dismantling government agencies. But sure, it's all good, just cutting government waste because why let the Constitution or laws get in your way.

Exactly and as I just replied to my2cents, bad enough I have to worry about foreign government hackers, now I have to worry about my own government and they don't even have to hack - they have the keys to the kingdom.

Musk has had my personal information for decades. I have used PayPal since the 2000s.   I have never had an issue.

People on both sides of the aisle have complained about the government waste.  This is the first time someone is actually trying to address the problem. This post was edited by my2cents at February 4, 2025 4:14 PM MST
