Yesterday Trump made a series of posts about the Canada/US trade war. The following one confuses me because can’t see what it has to do with how much I will be paying for pickles tomorrow.
"Wow! Canada has just announced that it is backing statehood for Palestine. That will make it very hard for us to make a Trade Deal with them. Oh' Canada!!!" .
Cheers and happy weekend!
I have been wondering if there is a difference in what Trump said Canada said - and what Canada actually said.
Trump said Canada is "backing" statehood for Palestine.
Canada said it would "recognize" Palestine as a state (if the 2 state solution was was put in place.). Either way it won’t effect the price of my pickles because my pickles are imported from the Ukraine.
Cheers
I figure Trump does know the difference between backing and recognizing. And he purposely used the word backing to make it sound like Canada was going to push for a Palestine state – maybe by giving them weapons or something like that. Cheers and happy weekend!
Well if Canada is already recognizing Palestine as a country wouldn’t we have different stationary for when we send Palestine an official letter? Like the letter head wold say – To the State of Palestine.
Actually the point of this question was – why should Trump’s view on Canada saying they will recognize Palestine as a State effect the price of pickles.
Cheers!

Well I would change the word “guide” to “dictate” and add a couple of words like “sour grapes”. Trump put some of the highest tariffs on Canada – and I bet it is because we told him Canada is not for sale. Cheers!
A vast majority of the illegals entering the US are entering from Mexico – but Trump just gave Mexico an 80 day tariff extension. Only about 1% of the fentanyl entering the US is entertaining from Canada – the rest is coming in from Mexico and China. Canada has been following the trade agreement it made with Trump during his first term. But that agreement is were the sour grapes started. Trump kept insisting Canada drop it’s Canadian content broadcasting regulations. But Canada told Trump they would never agree to that - and we never did. Canada will recognize Palestine as a State just like a lot of other countries will so it shouldn’t effect the price of our pickles.
Cheers!
