The owner of another social site just joined to promote theirs and I suspended them. They want to know why I closed their account. What should I tell them?

LMAO I kid you not. They used their real company email address to join and then promoted their website and then sent me a message asking why I suspended them. I'm kind of at a loss for words here. Help me out, guys.

That was pretty nervy of them.  Be no different than someone with a business joining and try to get free advertizing.

Tell them to take themselves elsewhere, that isn't going to go down here on my watch.

If they asked why, then they are either being provocative, deliberately time-wasting, or are trying to justify their impudence . . . or are just not very bright. You need, and must, do nothing, because there is no social nicety requiring you to respond to it, to spend time on it, or to expose yourself to further such nonsense.

Was this owner called Benedict Arnold, by any chance? Everyone I see who has been deleted seems to be called that.

Well this question is from 2016, but just in case it occurs again:

Their content constituted advertising, and as such was both unpaid, and in any event unauthorized.
The action taken was just the same as they would have taken, had the same type of thing had occurred on their website.

    Isn't that banning?  Not suspending?

    Good for you anyway.

Not  like I blame the person for trying.  But the person can't complain when it doesn't work out.
