Small towns with maybe just one station can usually rely on a neighboring town or on a county volunteer fire grouo to step in. One also assumes the on duty furemen will do their best to drive the trucks out if the station if possible so those can be used to fight the fire as well. Most fires are fought using city hydrants or a tank truck.
