In this context, Tom, we must also address nonexistence, which would present the quandry of paying homage to imaginary characters as a waste of irreplaceable time. Absent that, are we forced to then consider whatever universal creator that might exist as so vain as to concern themself with every one of the hundred billion or so humans who have ever existed has observed him sufficiently or not.

So, if that was the ONLY reason, then God would be an afterthought.
BUT since we are not here to procreate and since we are here to grow spiritually, saying God is not necessary is equivalent to saying we are unnecessary. We ARE GOD. Hello?
God was an afterthought. Ancient man perceived there must be supernatural forces that created existence and was cause of natural phenomena. Then as an afterthought they decided to personify those forces as gods. I came to age of puberty naturally to enable me to reproduce. If God existed an awareness of Him should have come naturally also I think.
Human s are not necessary; just a product of evolutionary process.
