How can anyone possibly defend disco music?

It's by far the worst kind of music as a whole and it's lasting influence on pop music has been nothing but a travesty.    From the sound to the style it's tacky and an assault  on the senses and good taste.

It's a clear sign that mixing Quaaludes and cocaine is a very bad idea.

Those ARE some great tunes.  Donna Summers was sort of the exception when it came to quality music.  Even disliking disco on the whole, I liked her.

When most of us think of disco, we don't really focus on the tunes that were really good.  Where would we be at weddings and New Years without Disco? :D

You cant. I think the entire 1970s should be locked away and forgotten about. It was really embarrassing.  The whole decade was, well, yikes! Just my opinion, but what do I know, I was just a child.

Queen and Floyd were quite good in the 70s, as were the glam artists like Elton john and all the soft rockers - Bread, America etc.

ompared to rap and hip-hop, disco is practically Beethoven. At least it has a discernible tune, and the lyrics are SFW, five-year-olds and grandmothers. This post was edited by Slartibartfast at May 19, 2017 7:59 AM MDT
