Discussion»Questions»Politics» Do you agree with Hillary that misogyny played a role in millions of women not voting for her contributing to her election loss?
Is she still looking to blame someone or something else? Why can't she just face the fact that almost everyone who didn't vote for didn't trust her? It is this exact behavior that lost her the election.
Who knows. Hillary seems to say anything short of admitting her own shortcomings. She broke laws, routinely flouted govt procedure, and performed poorly in other govt roles (people died at Bengazi) and cozied up to coastal elites and Hollywood muckety-mucks. Not to mention she represented a continuance of Obama's weak and failing Executive policies. Voters wanted change, she simply wasn't it. Plenty of places to point that don't involve a mirror.

Hi Zee! Regarding your answer, I have pondered those things; but maybe that is not unique to Hillary, rather just 'politics as usual,' both red and blue? So she could see such behavior as a politician's "right."
I still recall my 8th grade teacher, a Korean War veteran, spoke of the extreme frustration at losing comrades because of bureaucratic bungling.
And if so, was Hillary Clinton being held to a double standard?
No, it is quite common for those in positions of power to be duplicituous and overentitled. Nothing new, and Clinton was both. The issue with Hillary, re: this Q, is that she can't admit her own character flaws were detrimental to her campaign. But certainly not the only problems there. If we are to believe the pols, it was her election to lose, and she did.
Okay...see what you think of this idea, if you do not mind? On the previous page for this Q, Bozette posted a YouTube video, Michael Moore predicting Trump win. However the reason was, in Moore's words,
"Trump's election is going to be the biggest 'f*ck you' ever recorded in human history and it will feel good."
Granted a believable Democratic candidate would have defeated Trump easily; but failing that, how much of this election do you feel was decided on something like the Moore statement?
To a great degree. The voters in the "flyover states" rallied to Trump's siren song; they were feeling left behind for years by the entrenched DC govt machine, and no doubt saw Clinton as more of the same. I know I did. If it "feels good", I can't say that I get how, other than maybe the thrill of throwing a wild card into the game. I hope that those who voted for Trump are content with what he's doing. Thus far, I'm not.
Aw, heck no, he's an utter buffoon. I'd thought to give him a window of time to get his shi* together, being new to politics and all, before rendering an opinion about him, but he seems to be exactly what we've all dreaded. It doesn't appear unlikely that at some point he will get himself impeached.

Not really. Hillary Clinton didn't have anything to offer. isidewith.com put Donald Trump, Gary Johnson and Jill Stein were all pretty close agreeing with me in the 40 or 50 percent% range but Hillary Clinton was at the bottom of the list agreeing with me 23% I just didn't have a reason to vote for her.

I love isidewith.com, I finally got some family to take it this year. They all lined up with Trump for the general election. Different Rs for primaries.
Misogyny means the hatred of women. So, women hated themselves so much that they decided they wouldn't vote for a women? That makes no sense whatsoever. Oh wait, they call it internalized misogyny... That they grew up with people who were misogynistic so they are repeating that mysogyny onto themselves... Yeah, that makes sense. Clinton is never to blame. She's simply a victim of a horribly sexist society created by the Patriarchy solely to make sure she didn't become president...
Give me a break. Misogyny had nothing to do with her losing. Ignoring her fan base, her hypocritical campaign against Donald Trump, her lies during the Benghazi and email investigations, and other similarly themed incidents are the causes for her loss.
