So the UN voted to condemn the US for recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.
Yawn. Big surprise. Most UN member nations hate the US and Israel. As UN ambassador Nikki Haley said, it's a toothless action and won't make any difference. Why should anyone lose sleep over this?
The entire UN is symbolic to begin with, end with, and everything in between, which makes it a waste of time and a prime parcel of real estate on Manhattan's midtown east side. The whole thing should be dumped into the East River.
I've been preaching this for many years. Corrupt and sucking way to much money from us. Now they are going to rule the world, according to them. God help us!
Why should anyone loose sleep? Well, the Palestinians of course. The land of Canaan was theirs for roughly two thousand years until the British Empire annexed it and then later created the state of Israel. At the time of the creation of modern Israel, the parties involved agreed that Jerusalem, being sacred to three religions, would be shared equally and treated as a city of ecumenical peace. So Trump's action goes against an agreement in which he had no part. The Palestinians have endured half a century of successive theft of the land they were allowed to keep at the partition. Those who live within Israel are systematically subjected to racism, denial of their basic rights, lower wages, abuse and harassment. Trump's symbolic treatment of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel adds insult to the already inflamed feelings of greivance. It pleases the Zionists, who have the strongest gerrymander in the Israeli parliament. Thirty Muslim countries have objected to Trump's move, many of them the major oil producers. Trump doesn't mind because he intends to get his oil from Alaska.
There has never been a country/kingdom of Palistine, so how exactly was the land of Cannan owned by the Palestinians for 2000 yrs? Israel was formed out of the defeated Ottoman Empire as were several of the modern Islamic countries. Palestinians were offered a country of their at the same time as Israelis....they refused and waged war...they lost. War has consequences. The UN agreed...not the parties involved (Israel and Palestinians). Israel has always claimed Jerusalem as thier capital.
What happened in the 600's doesn't apply today. The modern Israelis didn't do chit to develope that land and they just had it handed to them after being taken by people who were there for centuries.
It's BS. Not to mention Israel never stopped with what was agreed they could have. They had to go to war to take more. If anyone else did what Israel does they would be charged with war crimes and human rights violations.
Who is talking about the 600s...I am talking about shortly after WWI. You should look up the history of the land before the Jewish people started returning. It was not developed. Also land was not taken from the people living there...it was purchased by Jews. Also Israel did not start any of the wars in which they gained more land. They were attacked...and they won. They did not go to war. The did finish wars that were brought to them. Israel has missiles launched at them daily. And they generally do not respond. Can you imagine what we would do of Mex or Canada were launching missiles into US daily? They show muchmore restraint than we would. They have negotiated land for peace many times....but there is no peace. You cannot have peace with someone who says you don't have the right to exist.

Considering that the Palestinians have never accepted Israel's existence and have vowed to destroy it, I can't think of a nicer group of folks to lose sleep.
Looks like the US have the support of a handful of tiny countries who Trump probably paid off to get them to side with him, and no doubt he's made us quite a few new enemies. Way to go, dotard in chief!
Probably paid off? You shouldn't make such an assertion unless you have proof. The US and Israel have plenty of allies, large and small, without "paying them off." Honestly, what are you so angry and hostile about?
