    Crows -
~ I like how they seem to strut around, they look like football players to me and their what-seems-to-be a sense of strong self-confidence.

AND, of course, I've always liked them for this scene in Alfred Hitchcock's "The Birds." If I had to choose, I'd pick this scene as the single most perfect scene from any movie I've seen.

  • I’m not sure if I’ve seen that film. If I did it must have been years ago. I might find it and watch it.
I watched one walking in the middle of the road once and a car nearly hit him and he didn’t flinch! They are very cocky

    Exactly!
The bird was probably wondering why the car was getting in his/her way.

I love birds, can't possibly choose one favorite.

One variety I find particularly fascinating are bower birds. The efforts that the males put forth in order to attract females are really incredible.

As Pete Murray used to sing:
'Maria, I just met this bird called Maria'.
    .  .  .  .  .
But, seriously though, one bird I do have a liking for is the elegant Lammergeier. But the bird I perhaps have a great respect for, also a species of vulture, is the Ruppels vulture (als. Ruppels griffon vulture). This bird has been reliably reported soaring at altitudes exceeding 37,000 feet. Incredible and yet true. What a hero!
    Yes, I thought you'd be impressed . . .
