Discussion»Questions»Life and Society» In some areas of everyday life, things evolve, but not always for the better. What are some things that have evolved in negative ways?
the technologies that make us lazier and less healthy war and weapons the entropy of aging the expansion of longevity beyond the point of quality of life built-in obsolescence the effects of technology on the planet's ecosystems
I think change is inevitable not it is not necessarily evolution. Growing up when I did in the 1950s and 60s communities were much closer and people at least on the surface respected each other and learned from each other because they did not see themselves as separate from each other as they seem to do now. Because they had not yet learned to think only in terms of "us and them"; they had not learned identify with an artificial "class" system because they had hope that they could make a better life for themselves and their families. Which cam in part from their religious beliefs. I miss all that.
Humans...stupid is breeding more stupid. And we let it happen. It is reverse Darwinism.

Well, a word like "better" is interpreted according to the views and goals of the person doing the interpreting.
As an exameple a light and pretty snow shovel that break a week after you bought it is "better" for the snow shovel manufacturer because that means you will have to buy another
Oh, me and my tendency to think I am the centre of the universe.. I thought this question was about things in MY everyday life evolving for the worse... Yea work. it's an utter pile of excrement at the moment - I find myself in a very difficult position and scenario that is hurtful and painful and I cannot really see an end to it... But as this isn't about me :P I will say... I am seriously not fond of the new android/samsung update on my phone. It's harder to find things and less easy to use other things :P
I got one noone else have, though I bet everyone know it: "Pucker up". I have heard it in many movies and even read it in Lil'l Abner.
And yes, pucker is a verb; but is also used a noun for the facial wrinkles caused by pucking.
