If a man is not a socialist by the time he is 20, he has no heart. If he is not a conservative by the time he is 40, he has no brain. – Winston Churchill
The trouble is, if it is profound, it has already been said by thousands of spiritual teachers, philosophers, psychologists, scientists and artists of all kinds. And if it is enlightening, it depends on the ears of the listener to hear it.
Here's a couple: (Proverbs 23:17-22) Let your heart not envy sinners, But be in the fear of Jehovah all day long, 18 For then you will have a future And your hope will not be cut off. 19 Listen, my son, and become wise, And direct your heart in the right way. 20 Do not be among those who drink too much wine, Among those who gorge themselves on meat, 21 For a drunkard and a glutton will come to poverty, And drowsiness will clothe one with rags. 22 Listen to your father who caused your birth, And do not despise your mother just because she has grown old.
(Ephesians 6:1-4) Children, be obedient to your parents in union with the Lord, for this is righteous. 2 “Honor your father and your mother” is the first command with a promise: 3 “That it may go well with you and you may remain a long time on the earth.” 4 And fathers, do not be irritating your children, but go on bringing them up in the discipline and admonition of Jehovah.
